New links for Surf predictions added to the Almanac, in the Weather and Tides sections - also some links to sailing sea-kayaks on the Equipment & Boats page.

If you've dented that lovely sea-boat this summer, here's how to fix it! Ah - memories of working with fibre-glass - I can still feel the itch. Here's an excellent, detailed article from Chris Bolton on repairing composite boats.

Read Julian Patrick's report on just why it's worth carrying those flares and VHF - if you missed it on the Community Forum, this real-life rescue report makes fascinating reading - good work and good writing.

Right - Fancy something REALLY challenging? Try the Eddystone Challenge - this will get you started. If you fancy a bit of a challenge the Mayflower Offshore Rowing Club are inviting people to undertake the "South West's Maritime Marathon" on Saturday 4 September. Hmm - 6 hours in a boat, sounds fun.

Share your trips & stories using the form or mail the sea section editor. Photos welcome too. You can also mail news, articles or anything else of general sea-paddling interest if you'd like it posted here.

Ah, the joys of sea-kayaking - azure seas, crisp white sand, sunshine, glorious scenery and great craic - if sidey-ony-seas dinnae bother you of course! Read Helen McKenna's story of her first ever sea-kayaking camping weekend in the Sound of Arisaig, near Mallaig on the Scottish West coast.

Trip reports, photos, articles all welcome. You can send us material using the form or mail the sea section editor.

I should really introduce myself as I'm pleased to be helping Mark by editing the Sea Site - I'm Mike Buckley - known on the Community Forums as MikeB.

Tim Dawson has been overseas, paddling in and around the wilds of Alaska - looks like a nice place if you can live with NOT being at the top of the food chain! Check his article and pics !

The Almanac pages are all updated now following the migration of the Community Pages to the new board - lots of links to a variety of articles and discussions on everything from VHF to footwear.

It would be good to have some more sea kayaking related "Technical" articles, perhaps on boat-outfitting or navigation - email them, go on, you know you want to - - -

Anyone else been out on the water? Send us your trip reports and photos, all welcome...
